Here is a factual story published by CBS News about how the Brain responds when tempted by a Thanksgiving dinner:
Associated Press News: Sometime Thursday, your brain will probably be besieged by contradictory demands. Your better judgment will tell you “NO NO NO.” Your surroundings will tell you “YES, YES, YES.” A nerve reaching in from your gut will insist “NO, NO, NO. “Signals from your mouth will make some brain circuits cry “YES, YES, YES.” And in the end, your brain, in the absence of knowledge nutrition, will make an executive decision and probably order your mouth to say: Pie? Sure. I’d love some.”
The brain is the most complex organ in the human body. It produces our every thought, action, memory, feeling, experience, decision, and judgment. The brain controls our HUNGER CODE and our CRAVINGS CODE. The brain has a staggering one hundred billion nerve cells, or neurons. The complexity of the connectivity between these cells is beyond human comprehension. Each neuron can make contact with thousands or even tens of thousands of others, via tiny structures called synapses.
